Meet the Chiropractor

I’m Dr. Phillips, and I’m passionate about:

Aging well for the decades ahead

My first year in practice I was horrified by the number of patients who, glib and in pain, would tell me, “Don’t get old.” Yet some of my most elderly patients made the greatest gains with regular care. Aging doesn’t have to be a miserable process, and I want to help your body feel good and move well no matter how many days you’ve lived in it.

The relationships I form with my patients

When you put your trust in me, I honor that trust by doing my best to listen, problem-solve, and care for you. What’s important to you is important to me. Your goals matter. Your concerns matter. I come alongside you with my knowledge and expertise to match up what you need with all that I have to offer.

The power of chiropractic

The results speak for themselves. A professional can go hiking after days at the desk, free from the sciatica that stopped him before. A mother can get down on the floor to play with her kids. The headaches disappear, the cane goes into storage, and you get your life back. These seem like miracles, but chiropractic research is rapidly catching up to what clinicians see every day. Chiropractic is amazing!

Dr. Phillips’ Background

Dr. Phillips attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where chiropractic was founded over a hundred years ago. She learned a variety of chiropractic techniques so that she can tailor what she does according to each patient’s needs. Before graduating, she completed a rotation in an interdisciplinary setting working alongside medical doctors for patients with complex care needs. She also traveled to Manaus, Brazil to provide care for an underserved community.

Having grown up in Wheaton, Illinois, Dr. Phillips returned to the greater Chicagoland area upon graduation. She worked in a well-established clinic in Northwest Indiana until moving to Los Angeles when her husband was accepted to medical school at U.S.C. After working in a variety of clinics here, she decided to start her own practice, Sequoia Chiropractic. In this setting Dr. Phillips honors patients’ values while striving for integrity and excellence in all that she does.

Dr. Phillips lives in Pasadena with her husband, Mark, and her two cats, Olive and Uma.

In addition, Dr. Phillips can offer nutritional advice and recommend natural supplements based on your health history.

Why the name Sequoia Chiropractic?

Sequoia trees are known for their strength, resilience, and longevity. Dr. Phillips aims to provide her patients with these same qualities in their health. The name Sequoia Chiropractic is a reminder of her mission to help patients stand strong, be resilient to stress, and live a long, full life.
